The University of Michigan provides many sources of financial assistance to help students meet educational and living expenses. Whether you are a prospective or current master’s or doctoral student, we want to make sure you know about the funding available for your graduate education.

Funding Information

  • Rackham Administered Fellowships and Grants

    Rackham administers two types of fellowships, grants, and scholarships: those requiring a program nomination and those for which students may apply directly. This unit also coordinates the financial activities for the Rackham Graduate School.

  • Internal U-M Funding

    The University of Michigan Library’s research guide to help graduate students find internal U-M scholarships, fellowships, and research grants to fund their U-M education.

  • External Funding

    The University of Michigan Library’s research guide to help graduate students find external U-M scholarships, fellowships, and research grants to fund their U-M education.

  • Rackham Faculty and Program Funding

    Rackham provides support for activities and initiatives that contribute to program climate, engage Rackham graduate students in intellectual exchanges that advance their academic or professional development, and more.

Hours: Finance and Fellowships is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The office is closed Saturdays and Sundays and on university holidays.
