Immigration Process for International Students Currently at U-M Ann Arbor
Graduate program notifies Rackham that they have recommended the applicant for admission.
Rackham emails applicant with admission.
Student will receive an invitation email to M-Passport after accepting the offer of admission. Through M-Passport, student provides financial information, current immigration paperwork, and any dependent information to request their immigration document.
Rackham prepares the required I-20 or DS-2019 at end of the student’s last term of attendance.
When Rackham has issued the documents, the I-20 will be available in M-Passport for download. A DS-2019 must be shipped using eShip Global, or the student can request to pick up the document when ready.
Student arrives on campus by “reporting date” indicated on the I-20 or DS-2019.
