Students are enrolled in Rackham degree programs (doctoral, master’s, dual degree, and certificate) taught and advised by faculty in graduate programs in nearly every school and college across the Ann Arbor campus. Rackham graduate programs are also located on the Dearborn and Flint campuses, where they are administered separately.

Rackham/Sweetland Workshop: Who Are You Talking To? – Identifying and Responding To Your Interlocutors

Interlocutors are those you engage with in your research and writing; they may appear (re: be valued) differently across disciplines.

This workshop will address how reading skills and writing conventions allow you to ethically represent others’ knowledge and support your arguments. Participants will work with peers to talk through rhetorical decisions scholars make when identifying and responding to interlocutors and set goals for how to use the workshop experience in their own graduate writing careers.
