Rackham Applicants Currently Studying at Iranian Universities

In light of the recent protests in Iran, government officials have canceled classes indefinitely at several major universities in the country, including Tehran University.

As a result, prospective graduate students studying at Iranian universities will likely experience substantial disruptions to their ability to submit their graduate school applications and complete their courses of study in a timely manner. Nevertheless, Rackham would like to provide as much support as possible for applicants currently studying at Iranian universities, including:

  • extending the deadline to receive English language proficiency scores, financial documents, and passports until May 1, 2023, for graduate students beginning their degree programs in fall 2023;
  • reviewing and approving late admissions requests from graduate programs on a case-by-case basis.

Additionally, some graduate programs may have limited application fee waivers available. Applicants can contact the graduate program to which they are applying in order to inquire about any possible application fee waivers or extensions to application deadlines.
