Immigration Process for International Students Currently at U-M Ann Arbor

Graduate program notifies Rackham that they have recommended the applicant for admission.

Applicant can view recommendation of admission in Wolverine Access.

Rackham emails applicant with admission.

Applicant accepts the offer of admission in Wolverine Access.

Student will receive an invitation email to M-Passport after accepting the offer of admission. Through M-Passport, student provides financial information, current immigration paperwork, and any dependent information to request their immigration document.

Rackham prepares the required I-20 or DS-2019 at end of the student’s last term of attendance.

When Rackham has issued the documents, the I-20 or DS-2019 will be available in M-Passport for download.

Student arrives on campus by “reporting date” indicated on the I-20 or DS-2019.
