In this session, we will learn the potential of generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools in various professional settings and how to integrate these tools into your career and professional development, including career exploration and job searches. As we navigate the rapidly changing landscape of the professional world and job market, staying ahead of the curve and embracing the technological advancements shaping our future is imperative. So, this workshop is aimed for any graduate student or postdoctoral fellow who aims to harness the power of generative AI tools with caution in enhancing their professional journey.
Workshop Goals:
- To demystify the concepts and applications of generative AI tools, providing a clear understanding of their capabilities and potential impacts on your career and professional development.
- To showcase applications and examples that illustrate how generative AI tools can help you explore careers and prepare for your job search with confidence.
- To offer hands-on experience and insights, enabling you to effectively integrate generative AI tools into your professional toolkit.
Ph.D. Connections is a career conference designed to support doctoral students and postdoctoral fellows in their exploration of career paths beyond academia. Ph.D. students and postdoctoral fellows will learn about career opportunities beyond the professoriate through engaging sessions with Ph.D.s in diverse fields. The conference is co-sponsored by the University Career Center, Rackham Graduate School, and the Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies at the University of Michigan Medical School.
