Barbour Society
The Barbour Scholarship program was originally endowed by Levi Barbour in 1917 to support female graduate students from Asia and the Middle East.
The Barbour Society
To recognize and celebrate the prestigious Barbour Scholarship and to ensure the continued support of current and future Barbours, Rackham Graduate School is proud to launch the Barbour Society.
This giving society recognizes alumni and friends who make gifts to the Barbour Centennial Fund each year. This fund honors over a century of support and helps to mitigate financial strain for graduate students as they complete their degrees.
The Barbour alumni community represents a rich and international legacy that started with Levi Barbour’s original gift and grows with each new cohort of scholars. Your annual gift, of any size, to the Barbour Centennial Fund renews your commitment to helping graduate students thrive here at the University of Michigan.
Membership Benefits
Your membership in the Barbour Society begins once you make your first annual gift to the Barbour Centennial Fund and is maintained through ongoing annual philanthropic support.
All Barbour Society members will enjoy special benefits throughout the year. These include being listed in the online Honor Roll of Donors each spring and invitations to exclusive Barbour Society events.
